Ski touring has become increasingly popular in recent years, combining exercise with time in the mountains. The reward is the descent and the feeling of experiencing the mountains under your own steam.
When snow conditions allow, a ski touring route leads from the ski jump site towards Hochkeil. The starting point is the car park at the Österreich Haus, from where a well-signed route heads past the waterfall and up towards Hochkeil.
The wider area around Bischofshofen also offers a range of further routes for ski tourers.
In the ski areas of Werfenweng, Hochkeil and Hochkönig, there are fine ski touring routes to explore, along with beginner trails and evening tours.
