Bischofshofen Amselsingen
The Bischofshofen Amselsingen is one of the longest-standing folk music events in the Alpine region. Held each year on the second weekend in October, it brings renowned singers and musicians together at the Hermann-Wielandner-Halle.
Under the theme “Folk music between tradition and new musical paths”, the 2026 event features ensembles that remain rooted in their musical heritage while exploring new interpretations of Alpine folk music. The programme includes the male vocal ensemble StimMen from South Tyrol, Göllwurz’n Musi and InHofer Dreigesang from the Tennengau region, HolzArt from Carinthia and East Tyrol, and the Styrian group Gstrich’n Vui. A special highlight is the Ellauer Dreigesang, winner of the 2026 Salzburg Folk Music Award.
Traditional dialect, authentic folk music, time-honoured songs, original arrangements and unusual combinations of instruments come together in a varied concert programme. The musical direction is in the hands of Martina Mayr, Klaus Vinatzer and Caroline Koller, who will also host the evening.
