From mid-March to mid-December, a farmers' market known as the Maximiliansmarkt takes place in Bischofshofen every Friday.
Each week, the shared-space area in the town centre comes alive with fresh produce from local growers and producers – from meat, bread and pastries to jams, juices and dairy products. Fruit, vegetables, schnapps, liqueurs and much more are also on offer.
If you are in Bischofshofen on a Friday morning during the warmer months, it's well worth a visit – even if just for a quick look around. Better still, stay a while and soak up the atmosphere.
